Honda Motor Co. Africa and Middle East Office have finally unveiled the facelifted 2017 Honda Accord. The new Accord is sportier, refined and gives you an option to choose an additional grade ‘DX’ with multiple standard safety features. Exterior Styling:

The 2017 Accord’s front gives a sleek and aggressive look. It has an all-new redesigned chrome grill with a shimmering H-badge in front. The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and integrated LED Light Bar Tail Lights are available in all grades. The V6 grades get all-new LED head lights to farewell your woes of night time driving. The LED Front Fog Lights help counter low-visibility in dust storms and dense fog. The LX grades and above have 17” alloy wheels, while the Accord 3.5EX Sport has 18” alloy wheels. Excluding the Accord DX, the sunroof comes as standard in all grades. In grades 2.4EX upwards, twin finisher tail pipes come as standard. The power side mirrors with turn signals come as standard in all grades.

Interior Styling:

The 2017 Honda Accord has an elegant interior with luxuriously furnished seats that offer unprecedented comfort for five adults. It has an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat. All Accord cars have rear ventilation ducts. Moreover, the Accord DX has a Manual A/C, while the Accord 2.4LX and EX have Dual A/C. Furthermore, the Accord 2.4EXL, 3.5EX and 3.5EX Sport have i-Dual A/C.

The 2.4-liter EX and EXL grades generate 189 hp @ 6400rpm. The range topping 3.5L V6 churns out 278 hp @6200 rpm. All 2.4 liter units have a fuel economy of 16.5 (Km/l). The 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers a fuel economy of 13 (Km/l).

Body and Safety

The Accord 3.5 V6 grades come equipped with Honda Sensing™ – a new suite of driver-assistive technologies. It consists of:

  1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): The installed cameras measure the distance between your car and the vehicle ahead with the help of millimeter-wave radar to maintain a safe following distance by preventing manual acceleration and deceleration.
  1. Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): LKAS corrects steering when driver begins to deviate from the detected lane without any indication. It assists driver get back to the center of lane and minimizes driver’s tiredness considerably.
  2. Collision Mitigation Braking SystemTM (CMBSTM): This system warns the driver of a potential collision. If the system detects that a collision is inevitable, it automatically engage the brakes to reduce the severity of impact.
