The first leaked images of the Toyota C-HR compact crossover surfaced two years back. After that, a couple of concept previews took place at several auto shows. Then finally, the full production model of the Toyota C-HR crossover made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto show.

The automaker announced back then that a hybrid powertrain will be available, but didn’t give any further details, however now Toyota has revealed the C-HR’s Japanese market specs. It will be available in 2 engine options i.e. a 1.2L turbocharged engine and a 1.8L four cylinder hybrid powertrain similar to the Toyota Prius. In the US, a non-hybrid 1.8L four cylinder engine might be available in the future. The powertrain will be mated to a continuously variable transmission system. It will be either a front wheel or a four wheel drive crossover.

In terms of design, we can say the C-HR hybrid resembles the Nissan Juke; however, Toyota has tried to make it more sporty and aggressive.

The Toyota C-HR compact crossover will also feature the Toyota Sense Safety system, which includes advanced safety features including pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, lane departure warnings, and automatic high beams.
