The new 2017 Volkswagen 3 Row SUV was recently caught completely undisguised. Thanks to Auto Sina, we got a fairly good idea how the production version would look like. Now, the automaker has released some information which confirms that the sales of the SUV will start in spring 2017. It will be available in two engine options; a turbo-charged 2.0-litre inline-4 cylinder engine that generates 238 horsepower and a more powerful 3.6L V6 engine that will churn out 280 horsepower.

A diesel unit was also planned initially, but since the automaker is still recovering from the diesel emission scandal, a hybrid option would most likely be a part of the future plans.

The 2017 Volkswagen 3 Row SUV will ride on the MQB platform and will measure approximately 198 inches in length. It will compete with the likes of Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander.

We still don’t know the name of the new SUV, but rumours suggest it will be called “Teramont”. The automaker most probably would reveal more details in the coming months, so stay tuned for updates.
