These are the first official photos of the 2014 Mazda3 Sedan which will go on sale before the end of the year.

Looking even better than the hatchback, the all-new Mazda3 Sedan looks like a more compact Mazda6 with an elongated roofline and a fresh rear end which is more attractive than on the five-door Mazda3. As you would expect, the interior cabin will be carried over while cargo area will be significantly bigger thanks to the longer rear overhang.

At the moment there aren’t details about engine lineup but most likely it will be borrowed from the hatchback, including the SKYACTIV 2.0-liter with 155 bhp (115 kW) and the beefier SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter with 184 bhp (137 kW) for the U.S-spec model.

Other markets also get a smaller SKYACTIV-G 1.5-liter producing 99 bhp (74 kW) and a 118 bhp (88 kW) version of the aforementioned 2.0-liter unit. Mazda will also offer a more frugal SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel outputting 147 bhp (110 kW).

Depending on engine selection, gearbox choices will include a SKYACTIV-fitted six-speed manual and an automatic.
