The aftermath of the Chinese accident has upset Tesla. The Chinese terminology that stands for the word ‘Self Driving’ has been removed from the Tesla Chinese website following the crash that recently occurred in Beijing. The ride was reported as being on autopilot mode at the time of the crash and the car owner blamed the company for overplaying the autonomous driving feature of the vehicle.
Earlier this month, a Tesla car crashed into a vehicle parked on the left side occupying some part of the roadway resulting in damage to both the rides. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. Although first occurrence in China, the incident follows a deadly car crash in Florida raising serious questions about the autonomous driving feature of Tesla.
“zidong jiashi” was the term translating into self driving or auto pilot that was removed from the Chinese webpage of Tesla’s Model S sedan on Sunday. The phrase now being used instead refers to ‘self assisted’ driving on Tesla Chinese website.
The company representative downplayed the happening as a continuous effort for further improvements. However, it remains to be seen what consequences will follow the latest occurrence as Tesla is already facing many troubles in the Chinese automotive market.
