The cameras have unearthed some interesting information about the fourth generation BMW X5. The third generation was launched in 2014 and going by BMW standards, it is very early for the German automobile manufacturer to develop the next model. However, according to the latest 2018 BMW X5 Spy Shots, seeing is believing.
The snaps depict a much larger vehicle indicating there is more room on the inside for the passengers. Moreover, the vehicle is being tested hauling serious amounts of weights as shown in the 2018 BMW X5 Spy Shots. The reasons for the early development include close competition from rivals like Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7 as well as the employment of a shared development regime resulting in manufacturing costs reduction.
The design is based on the BMW’s signature CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform at the company’s manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The SUV version of the modular architecture was first witnessed in the 2017 BMW 7-series. The traditionally used aluminium and steel material is blended with the carbon fibre reinforced plastic to increase body rigidity as well as torsion strength. This will result in robust handling of the new model as compared to the existing one.
We have already zoomed in our lenses for the next developmental update on the BMW X5.
