The first Saudi built Renault Truck rolled out of the Assembly line, marking a milestone for Arabian Vehicles & Trucks Industry.
The production of the French truck brand in Saudi Arabia is carried out at the newly built state-of-the-art assembly facility of Arabian Vehicles & Trucks Industry based in KAEC (King Abdullah Economic City). The first Saudi built Renault truck is the result of collaborative efforts between several Renault trained technicians, engineers, quality and logistics personnel from Buorg-en-Bresse and a fully trained local AVI team.
Renault, a Volvo Trucks subsidiary, has a global presence in over 100 countries and having a production unit in Saudi Arabia will help the company to make further inroads into the Middle Eastern markets. The Arabian Vehicles & Trucks Industry (AVI) is a joint venture between Zahid Tractor and Heavy Machinery Co. Ltd and Volvo Trucks Corporation.
The AVI production facility in KAEC has been ergonomically designed, keeping in mind optimum efficiency and can produce up to 4,000 trucks annually for both Volvo and Renault. The facility also has the distinction of being the first in the world to produce both Volvo and Renault trucks on the same assembly line.
