Dubai based firm Z Tyres has set the Guinness Record for World’s most expensive tyres with a set of diamond and 24-karat gold leaf encrusted tyres.

The set was specially manufactured for a unique buyer and sold for 2.2 Million Dirhams ($600,000). In keeping with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the proceeds from the sale are donated to the Zenises Foundation which aims to improve access to education in the world.

Z-Tyres has developed a solid reputation for manufacturing high performance tyres in Dubai – a city known for its love for exotic automobiles and accessories. The production of the world’s most expensive tyres was done in partnership with China’s Sentury Tire.

Two pairs of Z1 high performance tyres were sent to Joaillier Prive, an artisan jeweler in Italy, where specially selected diamonds were encrusted in the rubber in the shape of the firm’s logo. The gold leaf was placed in a checkered pattern by craftsmen in Abu Dhabi (known for their work in building the royal palace).

Tyre technology is a rapidly developing field and Z Tyre has been keeping up with the pace effortlessly. The company aims to uphold its reputation for durability through the use of new compound structures like advanced coupled silica mixing, run-flat technology and advanced tyre building machines.
