The next generation 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE has been caught testing at the German automaker’s research and development facility centre in Germany. The good news is, we have received the spy shots of the SUV.

Although it is camouflaged, but the “W167” inscription at the back is visible which confirms this is in fact the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE. The exterior design looks a bit updated and more rugged compared to the current model.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE will ride on the company’s MHA platform designed specifically for crossovers and SUVs. Under the hood, we can expect the next-gen Mercedes GLE to carry a similar V-6 engine also found in the new E-Class. The more powerful AMG variants will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged V-8 powerplant. The automaker is likely to introduce hybrid and diesel engines too.

The new Mercedes GLE is expected to make its debut in 2018.
