The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is completely reimagined. This third-gen model ditches its old look for something sharper, something more in tune with American tastes. Inside? Big upgrades too. But heads up—VW’s sticking to just two rows this time.

Under the hood, there’s a new turbocharged 2.0-liter EA888 engine. More power, fewer compromises. It jumps from 184 horsepower to 201, paired with an eight-speed automatic. Not bad, right? If towing’s your thing, it’s better there too—1,800 pounds max on AWD models, up from 1,500. Small wins add up.

MPG? No official numbers yet, but VW’s hopeful. The 2025 Tiguan shed about 170 pounds thanks to aluminum tweaks in the suspension and body. Less weight, better efficiency—or so they claim.

What’s really different is the platform. MQB Evo replaces the older MQB Classic, and that change shows. Shorter rear overhang, yet the SUV’s bigger overall. The look’s sportier, with bold creases, squared-off wheel wells, and a slick spoiler out back. Standard wheels are 17 inches, but if you’re feeling fancy, 19- and 20-inch options are on the table.

Tech takes a step up, too. The Digital Cockpit—10.25 inches—is now standard, alongside a 12.9-inch touchscreen (or an optional 15-inch one if you need more). Climate control? Two-zone comes standard, but three-zone is there if you want to splurge.

Between the front seats, VW squeezed in a smart little volume knob that doubles as a drive mode selector. Fancy features like Atmospheres sync lighting and sound for some cool vibes. Storage in the center console? Bigger now—7.6 liters. Handy.

Want better sound? A 12-speaker Harmon Kardon system is available. Wireless charging’s faster, too—15 watts instead of 5. Plus, they added a clip to hold your phone in place. Small detail, but nice.

Safety hasn’t been overlooked, either. Ten airbags now, up from six. VW’s IQ.Drive suite—adaptive cruise, forward collision warning, and all that—is standard. Optional head-up display if you’re into that, but adaptive front lighting? That’s a given.

Pricing? They’re mum for now. The 2024 version starts at $30,305 (AED 99,860), including the $1,425 destination charge. Worth mentioning—the Tiguan’s VW’s US bestseller, with sales up 19% this year. So, they’re clearly doing something right.
