Heavy-duty pickup trucks often bring to mind images of towing immense loads and taking up a lot of space. While this is certainly the case with the Ford Super Duty lineup, it’s important to note that the high-end trim levels offer a level of luxury that’s hard to match, especially for the 2025 model year.

Positioned just below the top-tier Limited, the Platinum trim stands out as a premium option. This trim level already boasts impressive standard features like 20-inch wheels, leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, power running boards, and a B&O sound system. However, the arrival of the new Platinum Plus package elevates the luxury experience even further.

The Platinum Plus package adds a satin finish to the grille with shiny chrome accents. Inside, you’ll find luxurious perforated Venetian leather seats adorned with French stitching. This package also includes Ford’s Max Recline seats, which allow the front seats to recline fully, perfect for catching some rest on job sites or while transporting horse trailers. The Platinum Plus Ownership Experience includes a 20% discount on all Ford accessories during the initial 90 days of ownership.

For the 2025 model year, the standard Platinum trim features a sleek black-painted grille and tailgate applique, alongside body-color door handles. Inside, a new Black Onyx color scheme is complemented by Platinum Blue accents. New exterior color options include Avalanche and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. The mid-tier Lariat trim also sees upgrades, such as a standard wrapped steering wheel, a fixed rear window with privacy glass, and synthetic upholstery that Ford calls “ActiveX.”

Other notable updates to the 2025 Super Duty lineup include the introduction of the Ford Pro Vehicle Integration System 2.0. This option allows for easy wiring of upfit accessories into the trucks’ digital systems, enabling control through both overhead toggle switches and the center touchscreen. A new Trailer Technology package is available, featuring blind-spot and tire-pressure monitors specifically for trailers. Additionally, a keyless keypad can be dealer-installed for added convenience. Those interested in the extended SuperCab configuration will find it limited to the XL and XLT trims with a single-rear axle and an eight-foot cargo bed.

There are no changes to the available powertrains in the heavy-duty trucks. The XL, XLT, and Lariat come standard with a 400-horsepower gas-powered 6.8-liter V-8, while the King Ranch and Platinum are equipped with the more robust 430-horsepower gas-fed 7.3-liter V-8. Each model features a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be upgraded with the powerful Power Stroke diesel 6.7-liter V-8, delivering up to 500 horsepower and an impressive 1,200 pound-feet of torque.

While Ford has yet to announce pricing for the 2025 Super Duty lineup, ordering is now open.
