Dubai Police emphasise parents on proper school parking and choose allocated parking areas near school. It is mandatory to ease up the traffic flow around schools. Major-General Muhammad Saif Al Zafeen, Director of Traffic at Dubai Police urged parents to walk off the children to school after properly parking their cars instead of stopping the vehicles on the road.
Analyzing the traffic situation near a nursery in Al Manara, he found out that parents often go for a short route when picking up or dropping off kids to school despite the availability of designated parking areas nearby. This violates traffic rules and it adds to traffic congestion leading to several serious run-over accidental situations.
He also suggested school managements to build a backdoor school entrance to let parents pick and drop their children without crossing the road.
