Last year, the Swedish automaker Koenigsegg announced its plans to hit the Nürburgring and set a new lap record with the Koenigsegg One:1. However, the plan was not accomplished as the management set certain speed restrictions on some parts of the race track. But the good news is those speed limits have now been removed.
A recent blog post at Koenigsegg.com revealed that the automaker is again looking forward to set a new lap record; however no specific date is mentioned. In fact, the post further tells that setting a Nürburgring record takes time and the automaker is in process of planning and practicing for it.
The Koenigsegg’s regular factory driver, Robert Serwanski will be working to speed up the preparation process, though he will not be the one who would set the record this time.
The automaker does not promise if the attempt to set a new lap record will be made this year, however it certainly seems very happy to be back on the track.
