The RTA vehicle test was conducted last year in Dubai to check car’s condition and safety features and surprisingly almost 25 percent of the vehicles failed.
The CEO of RTA Licensing Agency, Ahmad Hashem Behroozian stated that this centralised test was specifically designed using highly advanced machinery and well trained technicians. This is the reason it had become difficult for the unfit and unsafe vehicles to escape. Another reason why a lot of vehicles failed the test was due to the unification of the result.
Previously, different facilities were using different equipments due to which the results were varied. A vehicle that failed the test at one testing centre would have easily passed at another centre. However, with RTA centeralised system, it has become impossible to escape the strict procedures.
More than 35 percent of the vehicles failed the RTA vehicle test because of faulty chassis, whereas around 15.8 percent did not succeed due to problems in axle, wheels, tyres and suspension.
RTA has now made the testing facilities available to private companies and each of them is following set parameters. More testing centres will soon be launched across Dubai for the resident’s convenience.
