The new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is set to arrive at the New York Auto Show next week, but we managed to get our hands on some vital information about the car prior to its debut.
In terms of performance, the Camaro ZL1 is definitely faster and much more powerful than the Camaro 1LE which was showcased last month. The ZL1 carries a supercharged 6.2-litre V-8 engine that is capable of generating a brutal 640 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain is most likely to be mated to either a six speed manual transmission or a 10 speed automatic gearbox.
Compared to the previous model, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 packs 60 more horses and weighs 200 pounds less. Critics say that with this power rating, the Camaro ZL1 can outrun the likes of Mustang Shelby GT350R and even Porsche.
But above all, the body kit installed on the new ZL1 is too impressive for any Camaro revealed up till now. We would get to know more about the ZL1 after it is officially revealed by the automaker next week.
