The Range Rover Sport SVR is already one of the fastest SUVs currently available in the market, and yet the automaker decided to upgrade its powertrain.
The report from Autocar states that Land Rover is going to install the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine taken from the Jaguar F-Type SVR in the new Range Rover Sport SVR. With the current powertrain, the SVR produces 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, while the upgraded engine will push those numbers up to 575 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.
The enhanced powertrain will allow the 2017 SVR to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Some exterior updates will be made too to support the new engine such as larger intakes that will complement the increased performance.
The updated 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR will most likely arrive along with the other Range Rover sports models sometime next year.
