Dubai Police always come up with something unique and innovative when it comes to controlling city’s traffic and catching the law breakers. This time, they have built an advanced multipurpose road camera that is capable of detecting up to eight traffic rule violations at a time.
This advanced piece of equipment incorporates 70,000 laser lines and was tested last year at the Emirates roads. Besides detecting offences, the multipurpose road camera can also distinguish between cars and trucks.
Talking to a local newspaper agency, the Dubai Traffic Police Chief Colonel Saif Al Mazroui said that the technology from the fixed road cameras has been used to develop this modern high tech camera. He also stated that these cameras are very accurate and can monitor all lanes and cars simultaneously.
He further added that these new multipurpose road cameras have already recorded about 30,000 traffic rule violations.
