Following the diesel emission scandal of Volkswagen, the automaker has decided to cut down its costs on specific areas of the company, and this will lead to around 3,000 employees losing their jobs at the Germany plant.
The news comes directly from an unnamed source in the company, and we do not know its specifics. Currently, the company employs over 600,000 workers worldwide and about 120,000 at its factory in Germany. Reducing the number of employees and temporary work contract, and hiring less people will surely aid in covering up the financial loss of the company.

Reports further indicate that the automaker will cut down its investment by 1 billion Euros this year and will also stop producing the models that are not doing so well in the market. Due to the violation of Clean Air Act, Volkswagen can face up to $46 billion dollar penalty in the U.S.
