The European Car of the Year has been announced and now it’s time for World Car of the Year 2016 award to be handed over to the rightful winner.
The top 3 finalists for the 2016 World Car of the Year have been revealed and they are Audi A4, Mazda MX-5 and Mercedes GLC. There are actually five different categories in which other cars are also competing. The other categories include 2016 World Luxury Car of the Year, 2016 World Performance Car of the Year, 2016 World Green Car of the Year and 2016 World Car Design of the Year.
In the Luxury Car category, the Audi Q7 is competing against BMW 7-Series and Volvo XC90, while the battle for the Performance Car of the Year award will be between Audi R8, Honda Civic Type R and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe. The World Green Car of the Year will be chosen between Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Mirai and Toyota Prius and the final World Car Design of the Year will be decided among Jaguar XE, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Last year, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was crowned as the World Car of the Year; let’s see who takes the title this year. The winner for World Car of the Year 2016 will be announced at the New York Motor Show on March 24th.
