Top Gear seems to have kept up with its promises to change the dynamics of the show and the choice of new host Matt Leblanc is a step in the right direction.

Matt LeBlanc is best known as the quirky and loveable character “Joey” he played on the famous TV show Friends. He says he is delighted with the reaction fans have had to his new role as host on Top Gear and is looking forward to adding his own special humour to the show.

The appointment came as a surprise to many because the 48-year old actor will become Top Gears first non-British host in 39 years. Matt LeBlanc has already appeared on Top Gear and holds the record for the fastest ever celebrity lap in the “star in a reasonably priced car” segment. He drove a Kia C’eed around the famous Top Gear track in 1 minute 42.1 second in an episode aired in February 2012.
