Abu Dhabi government has opened its first multi-storey high tech car park boasting recharging points for electric and hybrid vehicles to ensure environment protection and sustainability. Inaugurated by Chairman of Department of Transport (DoT), Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon, the high tech car park consists of 4 bays to accommodate 726 cars, including hybrid and electric cars.

The park is situated between Al Falah Street and Fatima bint Mubarak Street, which will change the concept of car parking by making it simple and pain free for the motorists. The shopping outlets and entertainment facilities built around the underground car park will make people stay instead of just leaving right after parking their car. A family park with children play area is already built just above the parking area.

Abu Dhabi Municipality plans to build more high tech car park as a solution to the ever increasing car parking requirements. The authorities also plan to launch a mobile app offering information regarding the vacant parking spaces to concerned motorists. The news of car park opening has been warmly welcomed by everyone including the authorities and the motorists.
