Toyota has been working to make the Prius family its top selling model lineup but seems the circumstances are going against the plans as truck and SUV sales are escalating due to low fuel prices. Toyota is currently offering Prius C subcompact, Prius V station wagon and Prius plug-in hybrid to cater to the needs of different customers, and it worked out well considering Prius’ sales in the US.

However, as Toyota itself is offering RAV4 hybrid to challenge Prius V, there might be a tie between the two for existence in the near future.

Talking about the UAE, the Prius is recently introduced (though it is not on sale yet) and with fuel prices going an all time low, we are not sure of its faith in this region. In the US though, the sales escalated by 30% owing to the 2016 Prius model. According to Toyota Division general manager Bill Fay, the company cannot say anything about the Prius family faith as of now, so we have to wait and see.
