After revolutionizing the IT market with smart devices such as iPod, iPad and the iPhones, rumours have it that Apple’s next target is the automobile industry, which are somewhat confirmed as Apple Inc has bought 3 domain names including apple.car, apple.cars and apple.auto. The news is confirmed by Whois, a popular domain name and hosting registration site.

Reportedly, the company has been focusing on building an electric car to be launched by 2019. The project was code-named Titan and was finalized after the company thoroughly researched the viability of an Apple branded car for more than 2 years. Meetings with the important government officials were also held in California and a green signal was given by the company to expand the team of 600 people to 1,800 for accelerating the work on the Project Titan.

Although the company hasn’t publicly announced anything on the hypothetical project Titan and their domains Apple.car, Apple.cars and Apple.auto, all the above mentioned moves by the company pretty much suggests its commitment to become a major player in the automotive industry, through the introduction of “smart electric” cars.
