The new KIA SUV concept will be showcased by the automaker next week at the Detroit Auto Show. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) yesterday in Las Vegas.

Although, the South Korean automaker did introduce an SUV named as Kia Borrego (also known as Kia Mohave) back in 2008, but it was discontinued in December, 2010. It was replaced with KIA Sorento, and now we believe that this new SUV concept will succeed the Sorento.

The teaser image reveals that the Kia SUV Concept boasts an athletic design with aggressive wheel arches and a longer wheel base. The automaker stated that the concept was designed at the Kia’s California studio, and it features some amazing technological equipment and safety facilities.

Kia has not yet revealed anything regarding the powertrain or when the new SUV is going to arrive, so we will have to wait till January11th for the Detroit Auto Show to get our hands on more information.
