Work on the McLaren P1 Carbon Series has been started after the production of P1 series finally ended. The carbon series will consist of 5 P1s retrofitted with the body panels made of carbon fibre. Rumours had it that 20 McLaren P1s will be built in the carbon series, however according to Love Cars only 5 examples will be created.
An amount of $200,000 has to be paid to the McLaren Special Operations for replacing the P1’s body panels with carbon fibre. Additionally, red accents on rear diffuser, rear wing and rear ‘P1’ label will also be added.
It is still unknown, if all the 5 examples of P1 Carbon Series will contain all the aforementioned red elements or not. However, we do know that McLaren P1 Carbon Series will be equipped with an electric motor and a twin-turbo engine just like the 370 P1s delivered previously.
