The 2016 Nissan Murano pricing was announced earlier this week, starting at $29,660 for the S FWD and going up to $40,700 for Platinum AWD (prices exclusive of destination and handling). The outgoing 2015 model of the Murano with its new third-generation design was phenomenally successful with sales up by 30 percent in the first 11 months of the year.

The 2016 Nissan Murano is available in four trims: S, SV, SL and Platinum with a choice of front-wheel or Intuitive all-wheel Drive. It features a 3.5 litre DOHC V6 with Xtronic transmission and boasts a 20% increased fuel economy compared to the preceding model. This has been achieved through an almost 145 pounds weight reduction by using lower resistance tyres, active grille shutter and enhanced underbody airflow.

The safety features include Moving Object Detection (MOD), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB). The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system is a new feature that uses radar detection to alert the driver of vehicles approaching from the rear.
