The Mercedes SLK has been renamed to Mercedes-Benz SLC, and that’s not it, the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC receives some impressive exterior enhancements, technological features and a new powerful powertrain.
The two models that are set to come under the SLC nameplate are: Mercedes-Benz SLC300 and Mercedes-AMG SLC43. The SLC300 is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L four cylinder engine that churns out 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. The SLK55 AMG’s 5.5L V8 has been replaced by a brawny 3.0L V6 in the SLC 43 AMG, which will generate a mighty 362 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.
The transmission system has also been upgraded; the SLC 43 AMG sports the automaker’s latest nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox with 4 different drive modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Eco.
In terms of performance, it is slightly slower than its predecessor; however the fuel efficiency has been greatly improved.
The sales of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC series will start in Spring next year.
