Cadillac launched its all new 2017 Cadillac XT5 crossover at the Dubai Motor Show 2015. The luxury crossover is expected to replace the SRX as Cadillac’s top selling compact SUV. The XT5 stands for Crossover Touring 5, the first of a new series of crossovers being launched by Cadillac under the naming system XT.
The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is 278 pounds lighter in weight and more high tech compared to its predecessor, the SRX. Its new 3.6L V6 engine is paired with Eight Speed Automatic Transmission rendering a smooth drive with reduced vibrations – ideal for rough terrains. Drivers can choose between Touring Mode, Snow/AWD Mode and Sport Mode for variable surrounding and weather conditions.
The fuel efficiency has been enhanced through the Active Fuel Management System that can turn engine cylinders on and off as per driving conditions. The Engine Stop/Start Technology turns off the engine when the vehicle is stationery to reduce fuel consumption. Both technologies work without driver’s intervention. The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is also equipped with Surround Vision and Rear Camera Mirror systems giving the driver unobstructed views of the surrounding area on the Cadillac CUE screen.
