Green activists will be pleased with the attention being accorded to pickup and light commercial vehicles as the Green Car Journal and San Antonio Auto and Truck Show announced finalists for the 2016 Green Truck of the Year and 2016 Commercial Green Car of the Year.

According to Pam Crail, San Antonio Auto Dealers Association President, “These finalists showcase how improved environmental performance is becoming part of the DNA of pickups and light commercial vehicles. Recognizing the importance of these advanced technologies at the San Antonio Auto and Truck Show is an important step toward encouraging more of these vehicles on South Texas highways”.

The nominees for Green Truck of the Year™ are the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax, Ford F-150, GMC Canyon Duramax, Nissan Titan XD, and Toyota Tacoma while the brand new 2016 Commercial Green Car of the Year™ award nominees are the Chevrolet City Express, Ford Transit Connect, Mercedes-Benz Metris, Nissan NV200, and Ram ProMaster City. The Commercial Green Car of the Year award has been created to reflect the importance of green technology in small sized commercial vehicles used by small businesses.

The San Antonio Auto and Truck Show will be held on November 19-22 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
