Green Lord Motors (GLM), a renowned electric automaker in Japan, has managed to raise a whopping $14million (JPY 1.7 billion) to fund its recent endeavours to build Tommykaira ZZ EV, as per Tech In Asia. The company first accumulated $6 million worth of capital in 2013, and now with its latest round of funding, it has been able to bag a further $6.6 million, which will not only enable the enterprise to claim the rank of leading provider of electric vehicles in the country but also globally in time.

The GLM car is a personalised electric vehicle, the performance of which is strikingly parallel to that of the original Tesla Motor’s roadster. With the body work developed by Tommykaira, the car also boasts of completing 0-62 miles an hour in less than four seconds.

Moreover, both GLM and Tommykaira have allied to create this much talked about Tommykaira ZZ EV that has a 305 horsepower, a driving range of 75 miles and will be available at $70,000 in Japan.

With the recent funding in hand, the company will devote its energies towards the promotion of Tommykaira ZZ EV, while also commencing work on the development of the chassis for GLM. Addition of a new EV car maker in the market would give customers extra choices and may make them more affordable.
