Officials from Cooper Tires have announced that the company will be sponsoring the prestigious Dubai International Motor show this year.

The US based company, Cooper Tires is the 12th largest manufacturer of tyres in the world and the 5th largest in America. The company has been active in the Middle East region for the past thirty years and is now looking to enhance its presence by sponsoring the UAE’s motoring event of the year.

Widely acclaimed as the largest motoring exhibition in the world, the Dubai International Motor Show is part of the annual Dubai Motor Festival – a glamorous event showcasing the motor industry and the launch pad for the best that the motoring world has to offer. The event attracts professional and enthusiasts from the world over and has played a pivoting role in enhancing the motor industry’s profile in the region.

Cooper Tires manufacturing facilities span three continents and the company’s primary focus is on passenger cars and light vehicles. It boasts a 12 percent market share in the US for light vehicles replacement and employs over 8,000 people. In 2014, Cooper reported total revenues of $3.4 billion.

According to Jeff Schumaker, Vice President and Managing Director of Cooper Tire, Europe and the Middle East, the sponsorship precedes the launch of several new products in the region. He said, the Dubai International Motor Show is the perfect platform for Cooper to show its commitment to the region and making further inroads into the Middle East Market. Schumaker is also confident that the company’s three decade experience in the region has led to developments that can cope with the harsh environmental conditions.

Other sponsors of the much awaited event include Fedex, Emirates Airline, Grand Swiss Tour and Dubai World Trade Center.
