Kia has disclosed teaser images of the all-new 2017 Kia Sportage, the automaker’s next generation crossover which is ready to be showcased in a few weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Although the sketches look like a toycar, the actual model is expected to be more practical.

Based on the artistic realisation of the images, the crossover seems bolder and sportier than the current Sportage. The overall impression is that of a monster truck owing to the smart cabin and monocoque sitting on bigger tyres, while the front fascia would be retaining the trademark features such as elongated headlight, grill and air splitter. The backend is topped off by a spoiler on the roof with cobra-eyed sleeker tail lights underneath.

The interior has also undergone major changes, enjoying a flat-bottomed steering, sportier central console and bucket seats with red contrasting stitching.

The automobile’s European release is going to contain 4 cylinder mills, which will be offered both in gasoline and diesel variants, while the details on US specific models will be announced in the coming months, before it is set on the stage of Los Angeles Motor Show. There are also some rumours that a hybrid variant will might be on the way. The details of UAE version are still scarce.

The all-new 2017 Kia Sportage is set to make its official debut in Frankfurt, but since the automaker has already published the sketches, hopefully more facts will appear online before its final release. Stay tuned to get updates.
