Confirmed as a replacement for the brand’s existing GLK-Class which has been sustaining its position in the market for the past eight years, the Mercedes- Benz GLC Class is all set to be revealed online on June 17. The company has even released a sketch of the new model, which shows a much more fluid look, as it does away with many rough edges evident in the brand’s previous design.

According to reports, the entry-level model will feature a turbocharged 2.0-litre four cylinder engine generating 241 horsepower along with 229 lb-ft of torque. Models at the higher end of the spectrum are expected to include a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. If these figures are anything to go by, it means the new GLC-Class will be around 19% more efficient than the GLK.

Other features include a seven-speed automatic transmission and, upon an extra fee, a rear-wheel drive option. Fans can get the first look of it online next week and in person sometime in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, before it eventual releases by the end of this year.
