In spite of Dubai getting most of the limelight with regard to motor additions to its police force, Abu Dhabi Police have gotten an upgrade of their own in the form of 770 horsepower Lykan Hypersport. With only 7 examples announced, the Lykan Hypersport represents the Middle East’s first ever supercar.
Made by W Motors, the Lykan has a 3.7-litre twin-turbo flat-six that delivers up to 770 horsepower, enabling the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. With a top speed of 385 km/h, the price of the Lykan Hypersport is being touted at a whopping AED 12.5 million ($3.4 million), thus making it accessible to only the rich sheikhs of the Gulf.
Promoted heavily via Fast and Furious 7 movie, the Lykan Hypersport had most likely been loaned to Abu Dhabi Police to be displayed for publicity purposes only. However, it is expected that it won’t be long before criminals will be scrambling for cover from this speed monster.
