The German automaker BMW’s effort has finally paid off as the company has been listed on # 26 on the Newsweek – Top Green Companies of the World 2015 list. Although it is ranked at # 26, but if we single out only the automotive companies, BMW is on the first place with a green score of 72.20%.
The BMW i3, which already has received a number of awards because of the fuel efficiency, was named as “top eco-friendly car of 2015” by an online automotive research company.
Other automakers which follow are Toyota Motor Corporation on # 2 (overall 35th position) with a green score of 69.60%. Toyota made an official statement regarding their position stating that the company contributed greatly towards the environment by saving more than 93 gallons of water and making use of green energies as opposed to conventional energy in North America.
The third place is secured by the Daimler AG with a green score of 63.2% and a 73rd overall rank.
