Few months back, a photographer spotted a vehicle on the top of a transport truck which we believed was the Korean’s automaker new hybrid car. New spy shots have just been received, and this time we are certain that this is in fact the new Hyundai’s hybrid technology car, which is going to compete against the Toyota Prius.

Although the doors, bonnet and rear part of the car were covered, but we can still figure out the shape of it. No doubt, it looks very much similar to the Prius. The front features a grille with horizontal slates and blue-accented headlamps with day time running LED.

No official word has been heard regarding the powertrain specifications, but it will probably be based on the Elantra’s platform and carry a 1.6-litre inline four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. A plug-in hybrid variant may also be introduced after the launch.

Price and estimated time of arrival are also not confirmed yet, and we believe it would arrive sometime in 2016.
