Jaguar is allegedly on track to introduce the rumored J-Pace utility vehicle before the end of the decade. Corroborating earlier claims, Car suggests the company will launch the F-Pace’s larger sibling will make its formal debut in 2019.

The J-Pace is expected to offer seating for seven, arriving as a segment rival to the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and the BMW X7. Both standard- and long-wheelbase variants are said to be on the table, each built upon the same aluminum platform that underpins the Land Rover Range Rover. A plug-in hybrid edition and high-performance SVR package have also been mentioned as eventualities.

Separate reports suggest the company is also working on a smaller crossover that will slot below the F-Pace, potentially known as the E-Pace. Speculation disagrees on wether it will be aimed at the BMW X1 or sized to rival the X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class.

The company has officially denied the rumors, claiming the reports are purely speculation and no decision has been made yet on any additional SUVs to follow the F-Pace. Executives have argued that any Jaguar crossovers must be sporty enough for the brand, and a seven-seater has been rejected on such grounds, according to a statement previously published by Motoring.
