A year ago, Google announced plans for its car operating system, Android Auto, but it wasn’t revealed that which car will be the first to use this operating system. Now we know that South Korean automaker’s 2105 Hyundai Sonata will be the first vehicle to be equipped with this technology.

Android Auto will work on any Hyundai Sonata with the navigation system installed with just a software update from the official dealers.

Android Auto syncs with the smartphone giving the driver ability to navigate on Google maps, send messages, and make phone calls. It even has support for third party apps. Keeping the safety issue in mind, Android Auto automatically shuts down the screen of the smartphone to help drivers focus on the road; this will of course prevent the number of accidents that happen due to using mobiles while driving.

Android Auto will work on smartphones with Android 5.0 or higher having the companion application.
