The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 Centennial made its debut on the 100th anniversary of Aston Martin, along with three other cars at the Kensington Palace in July 2013. The convertible was actually hand-built by Aston Martin and the Italian coachbuilders Zagato for the well-known American car collector Peter Read.
After making its US debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegence in August, the DB9 Centennial was delivered to its owner in California who is not putting it up for auction.
The open-top DB9 Zagato is equipped with a 6 litre V-12 engine paired with six speed automatic transmission system to deliver 510 horsepower. It features a wide mesh grille on the front, distinct head and tail lights and excellent overall bespoke exterior with a unique shape.
The convertible DB9 will be delivered to RM Sotheby’s for auction in Monterey in August. The expected price will be somewhere between $380,000 and $450,000, which is even higher than the new DB9 Volante.
In addition to the DB9, RM also has a 1968 Maserati Ghibli Spyder, Ferrari Daytona prototype, Lamborghini Countach and a rare 1973 Nissan Skyline GT-R, up for auction.
