Two of the major Japanese automakers, Toyota Motor Corp and Mazda have teamed up and agreed to work together in the comings years to build better cars. The partnership will be beneficial to both the automakers as they will be sharing each other’s technologies and ideas.

The collaboration will lead to more technologically equipped vehicles in the future, however the automakers have not announced anything regarding the upcoming projects they will start off with. A joint committee will be formed to see how the strengths of both the automakers can be utilized effectively.

Akio Toyoda, the president of Toyota Motor expressed interest in the Mazda’s fuel efficient technology for petrol engines and the Skyactiv technology for diesel engines. Mazda, on the other hand will most likely make use of Toyota’s resources to reduce the development costs for its new cars.

Since, not much is known right now regarding the future plans of this partnership, we anticipate that in the coming few days the automakers might announce something regarding their first project.
