The all-new 2016 Ford F 150 would be the only pickup truck to be powered by CNG and propane. The company had previously introduced the prep kit in its old F-150’s base model sporting a 3.6-litre V-6, but this time, it will be available in the much powerful 5.0-litre, V8.
In order to enjoy the benefits of the car’s CNG/propane prep kit, customers will have to pay upfront $315 in cash with an additional $7,500 to $9,500 for a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier that will eventually supply fuel tanks, fuel lines and unique fuel injectors.
No other details are being released by the company except that the new model will reportedly be able to tow the same amount as if it were running on gasoline. Representatives of Ford expect the model to become wildly popular amongst customers as, according to a survey conducted by the company, nearly 72% of people wished to have alternative-fuel capacities on their new Ford F150.
