The leading Dutch Based company, TomTom, which produces navigation, traffic and map products is innovating to upgrade how GPS devices are integrated into handheld devices such as your smartphones and tablets etc.
The TomTom MyDrive application helps you plan trip and find routes easily. Before going on a trip, search for the routes on your smartphone, view real-time traffic and then send the data to the TomTom GPS device. After the data is received to your GPS, the driver can just hop in the car and drive to the destination without even interacting with the GPS.
New features are added to the application which include the alert system that suggests you when to leave for the destination to arrive on a suitable time, based on the traffic conditions. You can also bookmark home, work or any other favourite location which can be synced to the TomTom GPS as well.
The company is planning to make the MyDrive platform available to third party developers, as this will welcome new features to the application in the future.
TomTom MyDrive is a free application and is available for download on both iOS and Android platform or it could also be downloaded from the official webpage.
