Japanese automaker Nissan has officially announced the start of the production of its new, fully redesigned model of the company’s flagship sedan, the Nissan Maxima 2016. After its debut at the SuperBowl XLIX and the official introduction at the New York Auto Show, the 2016 Nissan Maxima will be produced at the company’s Smyrna TN assembly plant. The car is expected to hit Nissan showrooms by this summer and will be priced at $33,235 with an additional $825 destination charge.

A four-door sports car with a 300 horsepower, 3.5-litre V6 engine, the Nissan Maxima is already being awaited by many, with the Smyrna TN plant building enough vehicles to satisfy demand. The car features an updated interior that edges it closer to the luxury car territory, with 18-inch wheels, leather seats and GPS as standard. The engine’s power is mainly sent to the car’s front wheels and there is no all-wheel drive system or manual transmission as an option.
