Chinese car brands are slowly but surely making inroads into UAE’s automotive market, attracting customers due to their extremely low prices. The latest entrant is Dongfeng Motors which has been ranked at # 142 among the Fortune Global 500 list.

Dongfeng Motors has recently signed an agreement with local automobile dealership, AW Rostamani Trading for the promotion and distribution of two of its latest models; the S30 and the H30 Cross. Each car will be made available in two trims; Elegant and Nobel. They enclose a 4 cylinder 1.6-litre AT engine and a DOHC, 16V, VVT aluminium engine respectively. Other features include a driver computer with reverse radar information, a power sunroof and a multi-functional steering wheel powered with acoustic control and cruise control.

Both cars have been reasonably priced with the H30 Crossover carrying a price tag of 86,800 yuan (Dh51,400) and 97,800 yuan (Dh57,900), while the S30 Sedan costs between 78,800 yuan (Dh40,100) and 79,800 (Dh47,000).

This isn’t the first time any Chinese car brand has attempted to strengthen their position in UAE’s automobile market. In August 2014, V5, the Chinese version of the popular BMW, made its first appearance at Abu Dhabi’s Al Yousuf Motors with a price label of just Dh55, 000.
