Jaguar Land Rover is living up to its promise of delivering the Range Rover Evoque Convertible by 2016, which was first presented as a concept car back in 2012. There is a reason to believe that the British automaker is set for production of its latest offering, as spy shots of the car undergoing testing in two different locations have been revealed.

Initially, the prototype of the Convertible, based on the face-lift version of Range Rover Evoque, was spotted being tested by engineers in the snowy region of Sweden. Lately, the spy photographers caught the car at Germany’s Nürburgring racetrack, as it made its way towards the Jaguar Land Rover Test Facility.

Close up shots of the car at both locations confirmed front-wheel drive models incorporating Land Rover’s standard 2.0 litre diesel engine which will be offered in two trims: the 150PS (148hp) and 180PS (178hp) trims. The car also features LED lighting, new grille and adjustments to the bumpers along with a tweaked rear-end design.
