At the annual shareholders meeting, when Apple CEO Tim Cook had eventually been asked about Tesla Motor’s acquisition, he refused to comment on it.

Recently, it was among the top rumours that Apple Inc. has been in talks to acquire the American automaker. In fact, Apple’s merger and acquisition head, Adrian Perica also approached Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors. However, any developments in this context are still under the hood.

On the other hand, the investors at Apple are continuously urging the executive management to proceed with the acquisition process. Apple and Tesla are undoubtedly two of the most reputed companies based at Silicon Valley. However, they are not in competition in any way, as both are operating in completely diverse markets.

Some analysts are also of the view that Apple is working on developing its own car. Nevertheless, this requires huge investment and expertise to work out. According to the CEO, Apple is currently focusing on its telematics system named CarPlay. On being asked about Tesla, Tim Cook said Tesla would want to use Apple CarPlay in their cars.

For now, we can just wait for the official announcement from any of the companies to confirm or deny the rumours circulating around.
