Vintage Prancing Horses prevailed the last year’s classic car auction held at the pebble beach. The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO became the most expensive car ever sold for $38 million.

Auction of classic cars is one of the most expensive business in the world. Taking account of 2014, about $1.3 billion were spent in the US alone, in which 9 out of top 10 entitlements were secured by Ferrari including the top spot.

Through the course of a week, various auction houses namely RM acquired $26.4 million for a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB/C, Bonhams sold a 375-plus for $18.4 million at Goodwood while Gooding got $15 million for a 250 GT California Spider. A 250 GT California Spider was sold for $10 million and another $11.5 million were raked by RM for 250 LM. A 275 GTB/4 which was once owned by Steve McQueen reaped up $10.2 million, while 250 Mille Miglia, 250 California and 275 model were priced around $8 million apiece.

Unpredictably, the McLaren F1 was the only car that stood a chance against Ferrari’s Cannibalism; Gooding auctioned it for $ 10.75 million.

Following the ever expanding prices of classic cars, will the trend persist in this year’s auctions? If it is not apparent from the pages of history, try figures.
