Up front, the ATS-V Coupe wears an aggressive front splitter that appears to be crafted out of carbon fiber. Mesh inserts fill the ATS’ upper and lower grille openings, giving the car a decidedly sporty look. A thin air inlet integrated into the top of the car’s chrome grille surround adds a finishing touch to the performance-inspired look.
Out back, the ATS-V Coupe wears quad exhaust outlets and a large spoiler.
The interior upgrades appear to be more minor and largely limited to a V-specific steering wheel, carbon fiber trim on the dashboard, sport seats and a meatier three-spoke steering wheel.
The hood of the ATS-V Coupe sports a power bulge and a large vent to help extract heat from the engine bay. We don’t know for sure what’s lurking beneath, but rumors suggest a twin-turbocharged version of Cadillac’s 3.6-liter V6 engine with at least 425 horsepower on tap. Massive brakes on all four corners bring the action to a stop.
The V6 will spin the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic unit controlled by shift paddles.
Official details about the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe will emerge over the coming days.
