New details surrounding Mercedes-Benz’ Maybach revival have surfaced, confirming a debut next month at the Los Angeles show.
The new flagship sedan will measure 18 feet from head to tail, with plenty of bonus luxury features to elevate the Maybach-badged S-Class above the S600, S550 and AMG models, the company’s design head, Gordon Wagener, told Car & Driver.
Previous reports suggest a twin-turbocharged V12 will be found under the hood, while security-conscious buyers will be able to opt for a factory armor package.
The real upgrades will be found on the inside, where passengers are expected to be greeted by a fully-reclining seat and premium materials throughout. Magic Body Control suspension is also likely to carry over from the S-Class.
The company is confident that it can take on Bentley with the Mercedes-Benz/Maybach paired branding. Leaks hint at a price tag to match, potentially north of $400,000.
