Jaguar Land Rover Enterprise has announced that they are developing self-learning intelligent cars to minimize accidents and provide a unique personalized driving experience.
Based on a new in-car intelligence system, these cars are designed to anticipate driver’s preferences and perform certain in-car tasks like adjusting temperature, positioning the steering wheel, and altering the mirror and seat settings to help the driver focus solely on driving.
A new learning algorithm helps the car to learn about driver’s preferences and driving style. This learning is then applied by the software that provides multifarious services by using your calendar, traffic conditions and weather forecasts to foretell how the driver should proceed.
“The aim of our self-learning technology is to minimize driver distraction, which will help reduce the risk of accidents,” said Wolfgang Epple, director of Research and Technology for JLR.
Another interesting feature of the car is ‘Smart Assistant’ that helps you review your schedule for the day and plan your route depending upon traffic conditions.
Over time the self learning car adapts your driving style in different traffic situations and on different roads.
Moreover, the car would also know to play your favorite music and will also use your calendar to plan your schedule and routes accordingly.
The car also uses your daily schedule to ensure that you reach your destination on time and in case you are late it can also send message reminders to your Smartphone.
With this unique technology and concept, the Land Rover has raised expectations higher than ever, but its true potential can only be determined once the car makes its way to the market.
